We are thankful to introduce you to Roman and Marina Kalashnikov and their children—Timothy, Makita, and Ariana. Their family has faithfully served Christ through years of war, displacement, and transition, and God continues to use them to bring the hope of the gospel to Ukrainian believers across Europe.
A Family on the Move
Until 2014, the Kalashnikov family lived in Donetsk. With the annexation of Crimea and the outbreak of war in eastern Ukraine, they were forced to leave their home and relocate to Odesa. Though this was a difficult season, God provided faithful friends and a strong church community that helped sustain them.
In Odesa, Roman and Marina became actively involved in church life and ministry. During this time, Roman’s relationship with Caleb deepened. Although they had known one another previously, it was in Odesa that their close collaboration in what became the Gospel Today mission began.
Ministry With Gospel Today
Through Gospel Today, Roman served churches across Ukraine in several key ways:

- Leading evangelism seminars and conferences in cities and towns throughout the country
- Writing articles and contributing to evangelistic resources
- Helping organize ministry events
- Equipping local churches to be more effective in evangelism
Ministry in Germany
When the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, the Kalashnikov family was once again forced to flee—this time to Germany. There, they saw a clear openness to the gospel among Ukrainian refugees.
Responding to this need, Roman and Marina helped establish Ukrainian churches in two different cities. Today, they live in Augsburg, Bavaria, where they continue to minister together.

In their current ministry, Roman serves through preaching, counseling, and pastoral care, while Marina faithfully supports the church through Sunday school, hospitality, organizational leadership, and practical service.
Continuing Partnership With Gospel Today
Alongside their local church ministry, Roman continues to serve with Gospel Today by writing evangelistic articles and helping ensure that the content produced is clear, faithful, and useful for outreach. These resources are now being used among Ukrainian refugees and newly formed churches throughout Europe, serving as valuable tools for evangelism and discipleship.
We thank God for Roman and Marina’s faithfulness and for the partnership we share in proclaiming the good news. Their story is a testimony to God’s grace and to the fruit that comes from serving Him together, wherever He leads.
